As Senior Insights Specialist at QS, Chris Strods works to use QS proprietary data, synthesised with external and third-party datasets, to produce insights that help guide university decision-making and to understand the future trends that will shape the sector. Chris is a data scientist and experienced market researcher who has conducted qualitative and quantitative strategic research for commercial, not-for-profit, government and political organisations. He is passionate about using data to go ‘beyond the obvious’ to understand institutional performance and student behaviour.

Angel Calderon brings years of experience in institutional research, planning, and strategy across leading Australian universities.

Angel Calderon serves as the serves as the Director of Strategic Insights at RMIT University, bringing years of experience in institutional research, planning, and strategy across leading Australian universities. He has made substantial contributions to the tertiary education sector through research, leadership, and the design and implementation of initiatives that enhance institutional quality and effectiveness. His earlier career as a journalist and foreign correspondent has shaped a strong global perspective and advanced communication skills.

His work focuses on institutional management, educational quality, and impact beyond academia. He is widely recognised for expertise in global university rankings, higher education policy, institutional strategy, internationalisation, assessment, and governance. Angel is a frequent international speaker and has co-edited a Routledge volume on institutional research and planning, as well as co-authoring two books on higher education. He has advised senior decision-makers worldwide on higher education policy, strategy, institutional performance and rankings.
