2025 QS World University Rankings: Arab Region– Find Out More - (on demand)

This pre-launch webinar will introduce the audience to the mission of QS and to the QS World University Rankings: Arab Region methodology. It will provide a detailed account of each indicator and its rationale for inclusion and scope. Eligibility requirements for inclusion in the ranking will be discussed as well as reflections on what constitutes excellence in the higher education arena at national and institutional levels.

Florence is the Rankings Manager at QS. Prior to joining QS, Florence worked in strategic leadership roles within the higher education sector in the UK and Switzerland for over ten years. Florence’s expertise lies in Strategy and Planning, Accreditation and Quality, and Stakeholder Management. Florence holds a MA (Distinction) in Applied Linguistics from Birkbeck, University of London, and a BA Modern Languages from the Durham University. |

Wesley is a specialist in strategies and policies for promoting countries as study destinations, especially across the EHEA. He has extensive experience with international student recruitment activities and events, both online and offline. At QS, his main scope is revealing the impact of the latest global higher education trends on our World University Rankings. Wesley holds a BA in International Relations from the Damas Faculty of Christian Instruction, Brazil and an MA in International Public Affairs from the University of Bucharest, Romania. |

Our Panel Member - Ashwin Fernandes |

Dr Ashwin Fernandes is the Executive Director for Africa, Middle East, and South Asia at QS. He works closely with institutions across the regions to better understand the local context and to support the drive for excellence and capacity building. During his professional engagement, he has met with senior leaders from the region and is often invited to speak at several conferences and events on university rankings, ratings, education, higher education etc. He has been a panellist on various discussion forums and presented his recommendations on thought provoking topics related to higher education. Dr Fernandes championed the need for an independent rankings framework for the Arab Region and hence was instrumental in developing the QS Arab Region University Rankings in 2014/15. He also founded India’s first nationwide private sector evaluation framework called QS I-GAUGE. |
