Marios Vryonides is Professor of Sociology, Sociology of Education and Research Methods at the European University Cyprus. He joined EUC in 2007 and currently he serves as Vice-Rector of Research and External Affairs since 2021. He is the President of the Research Committee on Sociology of Education (RC04) of the International Sociological Association (2018-2027). In the past ten years he served as a member of Cyprus National Bioethics Committee. He is currently a board member of the Cyprus National Scholarships Foundation. He has been invited to a number of conferences to give keynote addresses. He has also been invited to serve as an evaluator/ reviewer in Horizon 2020 projects and to evaluate research programs in several countries such as Belgium, Slovenia, Greece and Israel.
